Quantitative analysis for hydration of unpaired nucleotides in DNA and RNA duplexes

Unpaired nucleotides such as dangling ends, mismatches and internal loops are attracting wide attention as key biological structures. Previously our research showed that the hydration of nucleic acids is one of the factors which regulate the stability of nucleic acids under molecular crowding conditions. We are estimating a correlation between hydration and stability of nucleic acids under crowding condition.
